EDF Energy Electricity & Gas Tariffs
EDF Energy is Britain’s biggest generator of zero-carbon
electricity.
Their main objective is working towards generating zero-carbon
electricity from wind, nuclear and solar to help cut UK carbon
emissions to zero.
All EDF Energy home customers get zero-carbon electricity at no
extra cost as standard. You will see the full breakdown of where
your energy comes from on your gas and/or electricity bills.
The tariff options are as follows:
-
Standard/variable/ default tariff – If you haven’t agreed to a
contract (if you have just moved house for example) or your
previous deal has expired, you’ll be on this tariff. The costs
change depending on wholesale, distribution and taxation costs.
There are more cost-effective tariffs available if you compare
and switch your energy through a price comparison service like
Switch Squid. You will also be affected by the OFGEM Energy
Price Cap. See our guide for more information on the Energy
Price Cap.
-
Energy Direct – 30 month fixed term energy tariff. No exit fees,
online-only management.
-
Easy Online 2/3 Year Fix – a 2 or 3-year fixed term, exit fees
of £15.
-
Total Service – a 3 year fixed energy tariff that offers no exit
fees.
-
Simply Online – a fixed energy term with exit fees of £35 per
fuel
EDF Energy: Green energy
EDF Energy generates low-carbon electricity from eight nuclear
power plants, over thirty onshore wind farms, and two offshore
wind farms, as well as one of the largest battery storage units in
the UK, one gas and one coal power station, thousands of electric
vehicle charging points, and combined heat and power plants.
Wind, nuclear, and solar all provide energy that is carbon neutral
at the time of generation and has a similar emissions output
during their entire lifecycles of construction, operation, and
retirement.
